Lady Merlin Hawk. Done in by a deck.

This hurt our feelings. Female Merlin Hawk. Crashed in our deck pursuing Humming Birds, probably.

Harv, our local Audubon expert: “…window strikes, not uncommon. Rarely is it a bigger bird like this but I expect it was going after on of the smaller birds in your area. Usually a merlin has an intent focus on only one target which makes striking a window or house highly usual as it should have lost contact with it prey unless they both struck”
