When I see them, I try to assist dragonflies out of the greenhouse using a highly technical device: broom & dust pan. Here’s our largest variety — a Blue Dasher. One time, it was necessary to capture one with my bare hand and it BIT me! I yelped so loud (maybe more out of surprise than pain) that David heard me clear across the yard and came running. I now refer to this type as a Blue Biter… We watched this one for several minutes, cleaning cobwebs off of its gigantic eyes. The broom gives some idea of how large these guys are. Impressive neon green “racing stripes”!
